If you’re looking for a kitchen showroom in Durham that delivers luxury, innovation, and timeless design, Haus of Design is where your journey begins. We specialise in bespoke kitchens that combine beauty with practicality, offering exclusive styles that can’t be found anywhere else in the North East.
Italian Ceramic Worktops & Quooker Taps – The Details That Define a Durham Kitchen
Two finishing elements transform the kitchens we design for Durham homes. The first is the Italian ceramic surface: we import large-format ceramic tiles and full ceramic worktops directly from Italy, prized for their heat resistance, scratch resistance and the way a single slab can run uninterrupted across an island. Paired with handleless Schüller, next125 or Nobilia cabinetry, an Italian ceramic worktop gives a Durham kitchen a calm, architectural quality that laminate or timber simply cannot match.
The second is the Quooker boiling-water tap, now fitted on nearly every project we complete. Instant 100°C water alongside chilled and sparkling options makes daily cooking faster and keeps the worktop clear – a small luxury that quickly becomes indispensable. See both the Italian ceramic ranges and live Quooker taps at our nearby Stockton-on-Tees showroom, then book your free design consultation to plan a Durham kitchen finished to the last detail.
Bespoke Kitchens Designed Around You
A kitchen is more than just a room – it’s the heart of your home. Whether you’re planning a new extension, a full home renovation, or a kitchen transformation, we work with you to create a space that’s not just stylish, but perfectly suited to your lifestyle.
Our designers take the time to understand how you use your space, ensuring that every detail, from cabinetry to finishes, enhances both form and function. We collaborate with homeowners, architects, and developers to bring cutting-edge kitchen design to homes across Durham and beyond.
Getting here from Durham
We have one showroom, and it is in Portrack — 15 Portrack Grange Road, Stockton-on-Tees, TS18 2PH. It is about twenty miles from Durham, a straight run down the A177 and around thirty-five minutes door to door, with parking on site. There is no Durham branch — every kitchen we design and install for Durham homes is designed here. We are open Monday to Saturday, 09:00–17:00.
What a German kitchen costs
We publish our price bands rather than making you ask. All figures are installed, with VAT included — not supply-only:
What moves a project within those bands is mostly room size, tall cabinetry, worktop material and appliances. The full breakdown is in our guide to German kitchen prices in the UK.
Why the drive is worth it
Haus of Design is the only kitchen studio in the North East where you can compare Schüller, next125 and Nobilia side by side in one showroom. Comparing German brands from brochures is nearly useless — they all photograph beautifully. Fifteen minutes opening drawers tells you what a fortnight of research cannot, and it is the fastest way to work out which brand your budget actually belongs in.
Every kitchen we supply carries a five-year manufacturer’s warranty, and beyond that we will always do our best to repair anything that goes wrong. We survey, design, supply, install and project-manage with our own team, so one team carries responsibility from first sketch to final snag.
See how the three brands compare, or read more about the showroom before you visit.
