Black German Kitchen in Co. Durham

Next125 Ceramic Kitchen
A Next125 ceramic fronted door kitchen combines timeless German engineering with contemporary design, creating a space that is as practical as it is elegant. Ceramic doors offer exceptional durability, resisting scratches, stains, and everyday wear while delivering a refined, tactile surface. When paired with matching ceramic worktops, the result is a seamless and unified kitchen environment that radiates modern sophistication.
These kitchens are designed for people who value both aesthetics and performance. The clean lines, subtle textures, and natural tones of ceramic fronts integrate beautifully into open-plan living, reflecting the Bauhaus-inspired principle of form meeting function. Beyond looks, ceramic surfaces are incredibly easy to maintain, making them perfect for busy households that don’t want to compromise on style.
To enhance the sleek, contemporary feel, many homeowners choose to integrate matte black appliances from AEG. These appliances blend harmoniously with the ceramic finishes, offering advanced technology in a minimalist aesthetic. The matte black tones create striking contrast while maintaining the understated elegance German kitchens are known for.
A Next125 ceramic kitchen with matching worktops and AEG matte black appliances is a true statement of modern living — durable, practical, and undeniably beautiful.
A black German kitchen for a County Durham home
We design and install German kitchens from Schüller, next125 and Nobilia, and a deep matt black scheme like this one shows exactly why German cabinetry leads the field. The fronts are dead-flat with hairline-consistent gaps, the carcasses are built to last decades, and the soft-close mechanisms feel weightless. For this Co. Durham project we ran the black across tall units, base runs and the island so the kitchen reads as one continuous volume rather than a collection of cupboards.
Worktops, taps and contrast
To stop a black kitchen feeling heavy, we introduced Italian ceramic worktops in a large-format porcelain — imported directly from Italy — whose subtle veining catches the light and lifts the whole scheme. A Quooker boiling-water tap was fitted at the sink, giving instant boiling, filtered and chilled water and removing the kettle from the worktop entirely.
