Designer Bathroom in Nunthorpe

A designer bathroom should feel like the calmest room in the house — and that was the brief here. We approached this space the same way we approach our kitchens: architectural lines, honest materials and surfaces chosen to last, with the Italian ceramics we import directly from Italy taking centre stage.

Large-format Italian ceramic tiles

The walls and floor are clad in large-format Italian porcelain tiles, imported directly from Italy and laid with minimal grout lines to give a continuous, stone-like surface. Large-format ceramics make a compact bathroom feel considerably larger, and because porcelain is non-porous it shrugs off moisture, staining and wear far better than natural stone — ideal for a hard-working family bathroom that still needs to look like a showroom.

Fitted furniture and finishing detail

Wall-hung vanity units keep the floor visually clear and easy to clean, while concealed cisterns and recessed niches carry the same handleless, clutter-free language we use throughout our kitchen work. Italian ceramic surfaces continue across the vanity top, tying the scheme together, and brassware and lighting were specified to complement the tone of the porcelain rather than compete with it.
